About coloured sealant in Aberdeenshire
We take on colour-matched work across new fit-outs, refurbishments and resealing of existing joints on sites across Aberdeenshire. When replacing old joints, the new colour normally has to match what’s already there. We work on hotel bathrooms and public areas, natural stone and brick and office fit-out finishes, and the failures we’re asked to look at most are a bead that fights the cladding or frame colour and untidy coloured beads with ragged edges.
We schedule the visit to fit the site hours and access windows you give us. On the day, the work area is kept contained and tidy, and your contact hears from us before we move to the next area.
- Photos or drawings show us the finishes and joints.
- We send the closest colours from the product’s range.
- The programme and access are agreed, including any phasing.
- We prepare each joint, prime where needed and fit backing.
- The agreed colour is installed and tooled neatly.

What a job costs comes down to how many linear metres there are, what has to come out first and how the joints are reached. Call for a quote when you are ready.

Local landmarks in Peterhead
In Peterhead, that means premises near Peterhead and The Cross Keys pub and the streets around them. Well-known places in the area include Peterhead Community Hospital (less than half a mile south-east) and Keith Inch Castle (1.1 miles east). Not far away are Meet Hill.
Where commercial joints are in Aberdeenshire
Shop fits, office refurbishments and hotel refits in towns such as Peterhead, Inverurie and Fraserburgh all leave joints that need sealing. Visible joints call for a matched colour and a clean tooled finish.
Across Aberdeenshire, outside sealant work is planned around the weather, with a little give in the programme for wet or frosty days. Aberdeenshire includes coastal places, where facades, frames and external slabs take more weather than inland. Product choice and joint preparation matter more there.
Peterhead: A business with units at Blackhouse Industrial Estate and Dales Industrial Estate needn’t use two contractors for its sealant. A unit on an estate like Blackhouse Industrial Estate (0.6 miles north-west of Peterhead) normally has an office front, a trade counter and staff facilities with joints of their own.
Aftercare for building managers
Your facilities or cleaning team can help the joints last. Share these points with them:
- Don’t let trades patch coloured joints with a random sealant
- Use one colour standard across multi-site work
- Avoid abrasive pads on coloured sealant
- Avoid piecemeal repairs on coloured joints
Don’t let anyone patch a coloured joint with whatever sealant is to hand. Wrong-colour patches are obvious, undoing the look you paid for.
Put the sealant colour into the specification or finishes schedule. Late decisions lead to substitutes and mismatches.
Honest limits
Being straight saves everyone time. Fresh joints won’t solve:
- A guaranteed perfect match to every finish
- Restoring stained stone or masonry next to old sealant
- A colour that never alters with age
Building owners, agents and FMs in Aberdeenshire
Agents, factors and owners’ representatives all follow the same route: send details, get a fixed quote, we seal, guaranteed. Keys, access and contacts can be agreed in advance.
Main contractors use us as their sealant subcontractor. We work to your programme, your specification and your site rules, and our applicators hold CSCS cards.
Signs you need coloured sealant
Sometimes the wrong colour went in at the start, or a different product was swapped in. The joint may work perfectly but look out of place.
Look out for the following:
- Discoloured joints on a visible elevation
- Patch repairs in several different colours
- Sealant that no longer suits recoated frames
- Dirty, discoloured joints in public areas
Surface by surface
Powder-coated and anodised frames
Anodised and metallic frames rarely have an identical sealant colour. We will suggest the nearest standard colours for approval.
Brick and masonry
Vertical movement joints run the full height of many brick walls. A well-chosen colour helps them blend in.
Your questions answered
What will the job cost?
Every job gets its own fixed quote. For yours, phone 01277 525 020 or send photos by email.
Will you quote for a small job?
We quote for single jobs as well as large packages and programmes. Send details for a fixed quote.
Are you fully insured?
Yes. We’re fully insured, and the certificate can go with your quote.
Does weather matter for sealant work?
It can, when the joints are outside. Sealant won’t bond properly to a wet or frosty joint, so we watch the forecast and rearrange outside work if we have to. Internal work is far less affected.
What if there’s asbestos in the old mastic?
The duty to manage asbestos sits with the building’s dutyholder, so we’ll ask for the register before work on an older building. Work pauses if suspect material is found, until it has been tested.
Are you CHAS accredited?
Yes. We are CHAS accredited, we’re a Constructionline member and we use CSCS-carded applicators.
How long will the new sealant last?
It depends on movement, UV and weather, cleaning, traffic and the product. Treat them as maintenance items and inspect them regularly.
