Coloured sealant in Dinnet

Send drawings, photos or a joint schedule, or tell us about the site, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.

Why deal with it now?

Agreeing the colour before work starts avoids paying twice. A short trial bead costs very little against redoing a whole elevation. For buildings near Dinnet, dealing with all the failing joints at once saves return trips. Send photographs and we will quote for everything together.

Every site prices differently: the joint sizes, the specified product, access and working hours each have a bearing. Send the details and a fixed figure follows.

Why clients in Dinnet choose us

  • Fully insured, including public liability cover
  • CHAS accredited
  • Over 20 years of commercial sealing
  • RAL and finish matching where the product range allows

Coloured sealant in Dinnet

Stone, brick and cladding each bring their own colour challenge: a stone or brick facade shifts in tone from one area to the next. We choose a colour that reads well across the surface rather than chasing one spot, with a sample on site if colour is critical. We work on shop-fit joinery and counters, office fit-out finishes and natural stone and brick, and the usual reasons a site gets in touch are discoloured joints on a visible elevation and dirty, discoloured joints in public areas. Looking for mastic applicators who cover Dinnet? We have been sealing commercial buildings since 2005.

Travel to smaller places such as Dinnet is planned so the whole job is finished in one visit where possible, so it helps to have photographs and a full list first. If neighbouring businesses have work too, the visits can be grouped.

Every job ends the same way: guaranteed. Our workmanship is backed for 12 months, and the quote explains what it covers.

What the job involves on each surface

Natural stone

Natural stone rarely has one colour, and the sealant has to work with that. A stone-safe neutral-cure product is used in a colour chosen from its range.

Cladding panels

Cladding joints are often seen across a whole elevation. We pick a facade-grade sealant in a shade that sits with the panels, rated for the joint’s movement.

What sealant work can’t fix

Our job is the joint, not everything around it. On its own, sealant can’t deal with:

  • Exact bespoke colour matches beyond the product’s range
  • Colour variation across natural stone or brick that no single shade can match
  • Cleaning or repairing the surrounding finishes

Not sure which it is? You can call 01277 525 020 or email drawings and photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

Joints and surfaces we work on

  • Powder-coated and anodised frames

Dinnet: questions and answers

Do you offer colour-matched sealant for buildings in Dinnet?

Yes, we can typically get close to most finishes from the product’s colour range. The quote lists the colours the product is made in.

Is a smaller place like Dinnet outside your area?

Not at all: smaller places are covered as well as towns. We work across every Scottish council area. We plan jobs in smaller places so return trips are kept to a minimum.

Do you need to see the site first?

Many jobs can be quoted from photographs, drawings or a joint schedule. Where they aren’t, we arrange a site visit.

Can weather delay the job?

It can, for external work. Sealant won’t bond properly to a wet or frosty joint, so we watch the forecast and rearrange outside work if we have to. Indoors, the weather is rarely a problem.

Can the building stay open while you work?

In the majority of cases, yes. Phased work can be planned so areas stay in use, with each area protected and signed.

Will you quote for a small job?

We quote for single jobs as well as large packages and programmes. Photos and a description are enough to start.

How long will the new sealant last?

There’s no fixed lifespan: movement, exposure, cleaning, traffic and the product all play a part. Treat them as maintenance items and inspect them regularly.

On site: what to expect

Diagnose, treat, sign off: that’s the shape of every visit. We inspect the joints and confirm what’s in scope, then the work is carried out to the specified product and detail, and we finish with a walk round so the work can be signed off. Jobs near Dinnet are often grouped with others in the same area, to make the most of each trip. Tell us how flexible your dates are.

  1. The sealant type is chosen for the joint first, then the colour.
  2. Colour references, samples or photos of the finish are checked against the product’s range.
  3. Where colour is critical, a sample bead can be agreed in a discreet spot.
  4. We remove the existing bead, clean the faces and set the depth.
  5. We apply the agreed colour and tool it neatly, with masking where the finish needs it.

Before we start on site

  • Point out parking and an unloading spot
  • Have the specification and drawings to hand
  • Share the asbestos register for older buildings

Advice

Site staff or a sealant specialist?

Some joints are best left to specialists: fire-rated seals that must follow a tested detail, trafficked floor joints and external movement joints among them. Getting these wrong usually costs more in the end than doing them right.

There’s also the paperwork. Main contractors and clients often ask for CSCS cards, RAMS and insurance details, and we will confirm the paperwork you need with the quote.

Signs you need coloured sealant in Dinnet

Internal joints can stain from cleaning products, spills or mould. Mould that has grown into sealant normally can’t be cleaned out.

Typical triggers for a call:

  • Discoloured joints on a visible elevation
  • Untidy coloured beads with ragged edges
  • Coloured joints that have cracked with movement
  • Dirty, discoloured joints in public areas

Whatever the building in Dinnet, commercial sealant work starts with cutting out the failed bead and cleaning the joint back to sound material.

What your quote should include

  • Their plan for phasing and protecting the area
  • Are they CHAS accredited or on Constructionline?
  • Whether old or failed sealant will be cut out, not overlaid
  • Will RAMS and insurance details be available?
