Accreditations, insurance and guarantee

CHAS accredited, Constructionline member, CSCS-carded applicators and £5m public liability insurance.

CHAS accredited

CHAS assesses contractors’ health and safety standards, along with other areas of compliance, on behalf of the clients who appoint them. Buyers use it to see that a contractor’s policies and procedures have been checked before work is awarded. Mastic Doctor is CHAS accredited. More information is on the CHAS website.

Constructionline member

Constructionline is a pre-qualification register that buyers in construction and property use to vet suppliers. Instead of filling in a separate questionnaire for every client, a contractor’s core information is held and checked in one place. Mastic Doctor is a Constructionline member. See the Constructionline website for how the register works.

CSCS-carded applicators

CSCS cards show that a construction worker has the training and qualifications needed for the job they do on site, and many sites require them at the gate. Our applicators hold CSCS cards, and we can share card details with a quote or before the first visit. The CSCS website explains the card scheme.

£5m public liability insurance

We carry £5m public liability insurance. If your site, framework or managing agent needs a copy of the insurance certificate, ask for it when you request a quote.

12-month guarantee

Our workmanship carries a 12-month guarantee. Sealant joints are maintenance items, and how long they last depends on movement, UV and weather, cleaning, traffic and the product used, so regular inspection is still sensible. Our guide to how long commercial sealant lasts lists the signs to look for.

Approved supplier lists and frameworks

If you are adding us to an approved supplier list or a framework, send your questionnaire or portal invitation with your enquiry. We will complete it with the details we hold: our CHAS accreditation, Constructionline membership, CSCS card details for our applicators and our insurance certificate. Where a buyer asks for something outside those, we’ll say so plainly rather than leave you guessing.

Site paperwork

Main contractors and facilities teams ask for different documents. Typical requests include RAMS (risk assessments and method statements), our insurance certificate, CSCS details and product data sheets. Tell us what you need and we’ll confirm with the quote. For background on what site paperwork covers, see CDM and RAMS basics for sealant work.

Our position on fire stopping

We install fire-rated and intumescent sealant at service penetrations and linear gaps where it is specified, to the manufacturer’s tested details. We work to the specification and the manufacturer’s installation guidance, using the right product for the wall or floor and the services passing through. Fire-stopping design and sign-off belong to the designer, principal designer, fire engineer or building control.

Third-party installer schemes exist for fire stopping, and some clients ask for them; such schemes are not a legal requirement, and we do not hold one. If your project requires a scheme member, tell us at enquiry stage so you can plan accordingly. Tell us what records you need for the seals we install and we’ll confirm with the quote. Our article on fire stopping explained sets out the wider picture.
