Construction mastic for businesses in Nunhead

Photos, a specification or a quick description of the joints is enough to start a fixed quote.

About our construction mastic in Nunhead

Perimeter sealing outside needs a dry joint and the right temperature. Each sealant has a temperature range, and damp, frost or condensation on frames stops work so it helps to sequence elevations with some flexibility. Internal sealing often fills those days. We work on floor and skirting junctions, internal decorators’ caulk and sanitary and kitchen joints, and what we’re called in for most is sanitary sealant damaged by following trades and inconsistent sealant finishes from plot to plot. Looking for mastic applicators who cover Nunhead? Mastic Doctor has worked for contractors, FMs and building owners since 2005, with CSCS-carded applicators.

Every London site, Nunhead included, is inside the ULEZ, which applies to deliveries and contractors’ vans alike. Add booked delivery slots and limited storage, and a London mastic package needs planning before the first bead.

Guaranteed is the last step of every job. You get a 12-month guarantee on our workmanship, and the quote explains what it covers.

Your questions answered

Do you cover business parks and estates near Nunhead, such as Goose Green Trading Estate?

Yes. We cover Nunhead and the area around it, including industrial estates, business parks and retail parks such as Goose Green Trading Estate. Photos and a short description are enough for a first look.

Could you schedule work at a campus like King's College London for the vacation?

Yes, holiday working periods are the norm on campus jobs. Tell us which site documents you need, such as RAMS, our insurance certificate or CSCS details, and they’re confirmed with the quote.

Do you work to architects’ specifications?

Yes. The specification and the manufacturer’s installation guidance are what we work to, and any queries are raised before we start.

How long does a typical visit take?

It depends on the scope, though a typical visit typically takes whatever the programme allows, since the work follows the trades as areas are released. For bigger or phased jobs, we will set out a timescale with the quote.

Are you CHAS accredited?

Our applicators are CSCS-carded, and we hold CHAS accreditation and Constructionline membership. We confirm any paperwork you need with the quote.

What hours do you work?

The office is staffed Monday to Friday, from 8am until 5pm. Tell us your site hours and access windows and the work will be fitted around them.

Is the mastic package guaranteed?

Each package is backed by a 12-month guarantee. We are also fully insured for public liability.

Our process

In a busy building, the work is phased so only one area is out of use at a time. Each section is protected, cleaned back and sealed before the next one starts. Most London premises stay occupied while we are on site, so we agree zones and timings with the building or facilities manager. Phased work keeps the rest of the building in use.

  1. First we look at the scope on site or from drawings.
  2. You receive a fixed quote covering scope, products and sequence.
  3. Site paperwork is confirmed and our CSCS-carded applicators are inducted.
  4. We seal plot by plot or floor by floor in line with the programme.
  5. Problems we find, such as oversized gaps, are raised straight away.
  6. The package is closed out, snags cleared and backed by our 12-month guarantee.

Before we start on site

  • Send asbestos survey details if the building is pre-2000
  • Point out parking and an unloading spot
  • Let building users know which areas are affected

When it isn’t the sealant

We seal joints; we don’t mend everything behind them. Sealant alone won’t deal with:

  • Defective windows, doors or glazing units (the supplier or installer’s job)
  • Joints damaged after sign-off by following trades
  • Designing joint widths or choosing the specification (that sits with the designer)

If you are not sure, just ring 01277 525 020 or email drawings and photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Surfaces we seal

  • Brick and block movement joints
  • Floor and skirting junctions
  • Cladding and panel joints
  • Internal decorators’ caulk
  • Sanitary and kitchen joints
  • Window and door perimeters

How the quote is worked out

We price every job individually. The main factors are:

  • Induction, permit and paperwork requirements
  • The size and state of each joint
  • Access and working height
  • Which sealant the job calls for

The product called for affects the cost, and so does the preparation, from cutting out to priming and backing rod. Access, phasing and site rules also count.

Before you send an enquiry

To price the job accurately, we need to understand the site. Send us:

  • Any specification or named product
  • How the joints are reached, and at what height
  • Whether the building will be occupied during the work
  • A wide shot and a close-up of the area

To get a fixed quote, speak to us on 01277 525 020 or email drawings and photos, telling us the site location and the nature of the job. Our quote form is another easy route.

Owners, agents and contractors

Main contractors use us as their sealant subcontractor. We work to your programme, your specification and your site rules.

CHAS accredited and a Constructionline member, we’re straightforward to vet for your supplier list. We are fully insured, and our insurance certificate can go with the quote.

What happens if it’s left?

A quick bead over a damaged joint can get an area past inspection, but it won’t last. Sealant can’t grip a contaminated or existing bead, and the defect comes back after handover. Damaged joints are removed and resealed from clean faces. Repeat call-outs disrupt occupied London buildings, so a proper job first time, with the old sealant fully removed, is worth it.

We don’t publish prices, since every building and every scope is different. Call for a quote.

Why us?

  • Clear, fixed quotes
  • RAL and finish matching where the product range allows
  • CHAS accredited contractor
  • Fully insured

How the job changes by surface

Window and door perimeters

Internal perimeters are usually sealed with a paintable product where decorating follows. The specification decides which, and colour-matched products can be used where the frame is on show.

Fire-rated sealant where specified

Not every penetration suits a sealant. Other products are used for some services and gaps, and we will tell you if the detail calls for something else. Record requirements are agreed with the quote.
