Commercial sealant contractors for Law sites

Share the site address and what’s failing, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote or arrange a visit.

Why it’s worth doing now in Law

On many buildings the mastic was done by whichever trade was on site. A specialist applicator takes care of product choice, joint depth and preparation, and they’re where most failures begin. You notice the difference years later, not on the day. In Scotland, wind-driven rain finds a failed joint quickly, and for a smaller place like Law, a repair visit takes planning, so it’s better to act early.

A quote for sealant joints depends on how many there are, their condition and the access, and any specification that applies. Ask us for a fixed quote.

What you get with us

  • Fully insured, including public liability cover
  • Joints cleaned back to sound surfaces
  • Colours chosen to suit frames, cladding or finishes where possible
  • Workmanship guaranteed for 12 months

Commercial sealant contractors in Law, done properly

How long a joint lasts is decided before any sealant leaves the gun. Old silicone gives new sealant nothing to grip, so every trace of it is removed, then both faces are cleaned back to sound, dry material with no dust or grease on them. Where the sealant maker specifies a primer for that substrate, it goes on before the new bead and the joint depth is controlled with backing rod. If you are dealing with external beads that have gone brittle and cracked and expansion joints with the sealant torn out, we can put it right, whatever the surface. For commercial sealant work in Law, you deal with one contact from quote to sign-off, for single jobs and planned programmes alike.

If you look after more than one building near Law, the work can be planned as one programme, with one quote format and one point of contact.

Travel to smaller places such as Law is planned so the whole job is finished in one visit where possible, so it helps to have photographs and a full list first. Several jobs nearby can also be put together.

Every job ends the same way: guaranteed. You get a 12-month guarantee on our workmanship, and the quote explains what it covers.

From enquiry to sign-off

We schedule the visit to fit the site hours and access windows you give us. While we’re working, the area stays contained and tidy, and we check in with your contact before moving on to each new area. For work around Law, we aim for one trip, so photographs, sizes and a full list matter. Outside work also needs a suitable weather window.

  1. Send details through our quote form, or ask for a site visit.
  2. We diagnose the cause of failure and price a fixed scope.
  3. Work is phased around your occupiers where areas need to stay in use.
  4. Old sealant is cut out completely, never sealed over.
  5. A suitable product for each joint goes in at the right depth and is tooled.
  6. A final walk-round, then the 12-month guarantee applies.

Getting the site ready

  • Send your site hours and access windows
  • Confirm the product named in the specification
  • Point out any areas we must not close

Aftercare for building managers

To get the most from the new sealant:

  • Keep barriers up until the new sealant has cured
  • Make sure contractors see the asbestos survey before cutting out old mastic
  • Report cracked or peeling sealant early
  • Note dates and locations of sealant work for future planning

Good ventilation keeps wet-area sealant in better condition. Fans that are broken or switched off leave joints damp for longer, which is how mould gets back in. It’s worth having fans checked while the sealant is fresh.

An open joint in a food area or toilet collects dirt and moisture that cleaning can’t reach. Cleanability is something environmental health officers pay attention to.

What we can’t put right

A few problems need another trade or a different fix, and we say so rather than covering them up:

  • A failed roof covering or waterproofing membrane
  • Misted, cracked or failed glazing units (a glazier’s job)
  • Cracking that needs a structural engineer to look at it

If you are not sure, just phone 01277 525 020 or email drawings and photos and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Where we work in Law

  • Floor and threshold joints
  • Kitchen worktops and splashbacks
  • Washrooms and tea points
  • External facade joints
  • Window and door perimeters
  • Movement joints in walls and floors

Signs you need commercial sealant contractors in Law

A split down the middle of the bead tells a different story. That usually means the joint stretched further than the product could cope with. Replacing it like for like rarely holds, so width, depth and product are checked before we quote.

Most enquiries start with one or more of the following:

  • Sanitary sealant that has gone black and patchy
  • Greasy, split joints in a kitchen or tea point
  • Layers of sealant, all of them failing
  • Expansion joints with the sealant torn out

If you have premises on more than one site, say at Castlehill Industrial Estate and Netherton Industrial Estate, one contractor and one quote can cover both.

Comparing quotes

  • Which product they’ll use, and why it suits the joint
  • Whether their applicators hold CSCS cards
  • Will RAMS and insurance details be available?
  • How joint depth will be controlled

Your questions answered

Can the sealant on our Law premises match the finishes?

Yes, sealants come in a wide range of standard colours, and matching to RAL references, cladding, stone or frames is a common request. Send colour references or photographs and we will confirm what’s available for the product.

Can you work at a site such as Castlehill Industrial Estate, by Law?

Yes. Estates, retail parks and business parks around Law, Castlehill Industrial Estate among them, are all within reach. A few photographs and the unit address let us price the work.

When is resealing likely to be due?

It depends on movement, UV and weather, cleaning, traffic and the product. Treat them as maintenance items and inspect them regularly.

What guarantee do you give on resealing?

A 12-month guarantee covers the workmanship, starting at sign-off. Keeping joints clean and inspected helps them last well beyond that.

Do you cover Law?

Yes. Sites across Law are covered, with one number for every area we cover.

Is it fine to apply new sealant on top of old?

No. Failed sealant is removed and the faces cleaned back to sound, dry material first, since fresh sealant will not bond reliably to aged material.

How long before the joints can be used?

We’ll confirm how long the chosen product needs to cure, and flag anything to keep off until it has cured.

Work for main contractors and building owners

Planned maintenance programmes are welcome: working through a building or an estate in stages that fit your budget. Sites in Law can sit alongside others in a wider programme.

Blocks and communal areas make up much of the work for housing associations and agents. We phase the work so people keep access, with each stage agreed with your site contact.
