Washroom sealing for businesses in Yoker

Photos, a specification or a quick description of the joints is enough to start a fixed quote.

Honest limits

Some faults sit outside our scope, and we point that out rather than sealing over them:

  • Condensation from failed extract fans
  • Failed tanking beneath a wet-room floor or behind tiles
  • Loose panels, vanity units or tiles, which need fixing first

If you’re not sure, just call the office on 01277 525 020 or email the details over and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

What we seal

  • Accessible toilets and changing rooms
  • Urinals and WCs
  • IPS panels and cubicles
  • Showers, trays and wet room floors
  • Kitchens and tea points
  • Vanity units and basins

How we handle washroom sealing in Yoker

We reseal washrooms and wet areas in offices, hotels, schools, universities, gyms, healthcare buildings and care homes, along with staff kitchens and tea points. Product and method follow how hard each area is used and cleaned. We work on kitchens and tea points, IPS panels and cubicles and showers, trays and wet room floors, and the failures we’re asked to look at most are panel joints letting water behind and complaints from staff, guests or users about tired washrooms. Whether you call it commercial sealant work, mastic application or joint sealing, in Yoker it comes down to the same thing: failed joints cut out, faces prepared and the right sealant laid to the right depth.

City hotels, restaurants and bars in Scotland need washrooms that look cared for and kitchens that clean easily. We use anti-mould silicone in washrooms and food-safe hygienic sealant at kitchen worktops.

Building owners and contractors get the same cover: twelve months on the work we carried out. It doesn’t extend to damage, faults in the building or work by others, and we’re upfront about that.

Yoker: questions and answers

Will you plan work around the academic year at somewhere like University of Glasgow Garscube Campus?

Yes. We plan campus work around teaching, exams and residence turnarounds. Any paperwork you need, from RAMS to our insurance certificate and CSCS details, is confirmed with the quote.

Can work in a care setting near Yoker go ahead while residents are there?

Yes. We work around residents’ routines, a room or two at a time. Tell us about any infection-control or safeguarding requirements and we’ll work to them.

Can you send site paperwork?

Let us know which documents the site needs, such as RAMS, an insurance certificate or CSCS details, and we will confirm them with the quote.

Do you hold CHAS accreditation?

Yes. Mastic Doctor is CHAS accredited and a Constructionline member, which helps with supplier vetting.

Is any job too small?

We quote for single jobs as well as large packages and programmes. Send details for a fixed quote.

Do you use special sealant for toilets and showers?

It depends on the joint. Washrooms and showers take anti-mould sanitary silicone while kitchens may need a food-safe grade.

How much does the work cost?

Each job is quoted on its own details. To get one, call the office on 01277 525 020 or email us.

Our process

At the end of each section, the masking comes off, the area is cleaned and every joint is checked with your site contact. Where the sealant needs time to cure before use, we tell you and sign the area. In a Scottish city, kerbside space and loading need planning, especially near the centre. Shared closes, stairs and the property factor may need to be part of the plan.

  1. We start by inspecting the fittings and joints and flagging problems sealant can’t solve.
  2. We agree which rooms close and when, so users always have somewhere to go.
  3. Failed silicone is removed completely and the surfaces cleaned of every trace.
  4. We clean and dry every surface so the new sealant can grip.
  5. We lay a sanitary silicone bead and tool it smooth so it is easy to clean.
  6. Rooms reopen after the product’s cure time, and we move to the next.

Getting the site ready

  • Flag any permit to work we will need
  • Explain the parking and delivery arrangements
  • Agree which areas must stay open

How the job changes by surface

Healthcare and care settings

Accessible and assisted washrooms are used and cleaned intensively, so their joints often need renewing sooner.

Changing rooms and gyms

Changing rooms in gyms and leisure centres stay wet and warm so sealant there works very hard. We use anti-mould sanitary silicone throughout.

How the quote is worked out

These are the things that shape the price:

  • The product specified
  • Any access equipment needed
  • The total length or number of joints
  • Site requirements such as inductions and permits

The product called for affects the cost, and so does the preparation. Access, phasing and site requirements come into it too.

What we need to price the job

It doesn’t need to be a full survey. These details are enough to start:

  • Any specification or named product
  • When you need the work done
  • Rough lengths or quantities, or drawings if you have them
  • Where the site is, with the postcode

Every job follows the same four steps: send details, get a quote, we seal, guaranteed. To take the first step, ring 01277 525 020 or send details through our quote form.

Wet areas in Yoker’s workplaces

There are two care or nursing homes within about 2 miles of Yoker. In a care setting, a mouldy or lifting joint in a wet room is a hygiene issue as much as a cosmetic one. We plan the work with the manager so residents are disturbed as little as possible. Several hotels sit less than 2 miles from Yoker. En suite bathrooms, staff changing rooms and kitchens all need their sanitary silicone renewed in time. We work a handful of rooms at a time, so the hotel keeps letting the rest.

On a healthcare site such as Golden Jubilee National Hospital, which lies north-west of Yoker, washroom work starts with the infection-control team’s sign-off. For a hotel such as Douglas Hotel, 0.7 miles west of Yoker, resealing en suites a few rooms at a time keeps the rest available. Student showers at universities like University of Glasgow Garscube Campus (to the east of Yoker) see more use than most, and their silicone shows it.

Yoker is about 2 miles south-east of Clydebank, in Glasgow. Looking for washroom sealing in Yoker? We can help. We work across 171 places in Glasgow, large and small.

If you need washroom sealing in G13, G81 and G14, the process matches everywhere else we work: send details, get a quote, we seal, guaranteed. Just outside Yoker, we also work in Garscadden (1 mile south-east), Scotstounhill (1 mile south-east), Renfrew (1 mile south), Knightswood (1 mile east) and Scotstoun (2 miles south-east). For managing agents and facilities managers

If you look after buildings for someone else, clear figures and clear communication matter. You get a fixed quote, an agreed scope and a walk round at the end.

Main contractors use us as their sealant subcontractor, on new build and refurbishment alike. We work to your programme, your specification and your site rules, and our applicators hold CSCS cards.

When to bring in a specialist

Site maintenance staff can often handle a short internal joint. The usual problems come from preparation: sealing over old material, sealing onto damp or dusty surfaces, or a product that can’t take the movement.

The visible bead is only part of the job. Backing rod, primer where specified and a joint designed to move with the building are easy to get wrong without experience.
