Washroom sealing in New Haw
For clinics, hospitals and care homes, sealed joints matter for infection control as much as appearance. Your estates and infection-control requirements, and any permits the site uses, shape how we work. Any records you need are confirmed with the quote. If you have sealant lifting along a tray edge and washrooms that look worn because of the sealant, we can put it right, whatever the surface. For commercial sealant work in New Haw, you deal with one contact from quote to sign-off, whether it’s one building or several.
Pub and restaurant kitchens around smaller places like New Haw work hard on their joints. Sealed joints at sinks, worktops and splashbacks help keep the kitchen cleanable, using a food-safe product near food preparation.
Whoever the client is, the cover is the same: twelve months on the work we carried out. It doesn’t extend to damage, faults in the building or work by others, and we’re upfront about that.

What sealant work can’t fix
A proper diagnosis includes knowing what sealant can’t do. We’ll tell you if the real problem is one of these:
- Hollow tiles or loose panels behind the joint
- Panel boards already damaged by water
- Water from plumbing, not from a joint
If you are not sure, just ring 01277 525 020 or send photos by email and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Work for main contractors and building owners
Agents, factors and owners’ representatives all follow the same route: send details, get a fixed quote, we seal, guaranteed. We can agree access arrangements and keyholder contacts beforehand.
If you look after buildings for someone else, you need clear quotes and clear reporting. We quote a fixed sum, confirm the scope and walk the finished work with you or your representative.
Diagnose, treat, sign off
A typical day starts with protection: tape along each joint edge and covers over finishes, stock and equipment close by. On site, the work usually takes half a day to a day per washroom, depending on the number of fittings, and we clear our waste as we work. Work in places the size of New Haw is planned as a single visit where we can. Clear photographs and measurements help us bring the right products.
- Every washroom is checked joint by joint, with loose panels, leaks or damp noted for the right trade.
- We agree which rooms close and when, so users always have somewhere to go.
- The failed silicone is stripped and every face scraped clean of residue.
- Each joint is degreased and left dry, because silicone won’t bond to damp or soapy surfaces.
- We lay a sanitary silicone bead and tool it smooth so it is easy to clean.
- You get a reopening time for every room, with signage left up until then.
Getting the site ready
- For older buildings, check the asbestos register before work
- Let us know about inductions and permits
- Send any specification or drawings in advance

Advice
Doing it in-house
For most general trades, sealant is a sideline. A specialist prepares properly, controls joint depth and picks a product with the right movement class.
For a quick touch-up, site staff may be fine, but anything bigger is another matter: a specialist brings efficiency, a consistent finish and a 12-month guarantee.

Questions we’re asked in New Haw
Can work at a site such as Brooklands Technical College - Weybridge Campus fit around teaching?
Yes. Education sites normally want the work in vacations or in phases during term, and we plan to suit. Tell us which site documents you need, such as RAMS, our insurance certificate or CSCS details, and they’re confirmed with the quote.
Is a smaller place like New Haw outside your area?
No. Small places get the same service as large ones. We cover Greater London and the counties of the South East. We plan jobs in smaller places so return trips are kept to a minimum.
How do you deal with asbestos in old sealant?
Some older mastics, especially in pre-2000 buildings, can contain asbestos. We check the asbestos register before cutting out old sealant in an older building, and if asbestos is suspected, work stops until it’s tested. Removing asbestos is a job for asbestos specialists, not us.
Do you need to remove the old sealant?
We always remove it. New silicone won’t stick to the old so a bead over the top fails quickly.
Will you come and look before quoting?
Photos, drawings or a schedule are often enough to quote. Where they aren’t, we arrange a site visit before quoting.
Will cleaning remove black mould from sealant?
Not for long. The mould is inside the silicone so cleaning only lightens it for a while. Replacement is the lasting fix.
Will your applicators have CSCS cards?
Yes. Should the site need card details in advance, tell us and we’ll confirm them with the quote.
Leave it or put it right?
Sealing on top of old silicone saves nothing. Silicone won’t grip silicone, so it lifts and holds moisture underneath. Full removal and proper cleaning is what makes the new joint last. Sealant hardens, cracks and loses grip with age, UV and movement. Renewing it in good time keeps the building weathertight.
What a job costs comes down to the quantity of joints, how much old material needs removing and the access. Call for a fixed quote when you’re ready.

In staff, hotel and changing-room showers, the tray joint and wall corners take the hardest use. Each bead is stripped, the joint dried and new sealant laid.
