Need washroom sealing in Inverarity?

Photos, a specification or a quick description of the joints is enough to start a fixed quote.

Wet areas in Inverarity’s workplaces

Inverarity is on Scotland’s drier eastern side. Inside, ventilation and use decide how fast washroom sealant moulds, whatever the weather.

Healthcare estates like Forfar Infirmary (to the north of Inverarity) expect contractors to follow their permits and cleaning rules in every washroom. Halls linked to places like Inverarity Parish Church host groups all week, which is hard on kitchen and toilet sealant.

Inverarity is about 4 miles south of Forfar, in Angus. Any commercial site in Inverarity is covered. Our Angus coverage takes in 65 places, large and small. We also cover Dundee, around 8 miles from Inverarity.

We take on washrooms and wet areas across the DD8 postcode area, whatever the building. Sites close to Inverarity are covered too, including Monikie (5 miles south-east), Wellbank (5 miles south), Bucklerheads (5 miles south), Kingennie (5 miles south) and Newbigging (6 miles south-east). A short drive away, we cover Arbroath (12 miles east), Forfar (4 miles north), Monifieth (8 miles south), Carnoustie (9 miles south-east), Kirriemuir (7 miles north-west) and Brechin (14 miles north-east).

Washroom sealing in Inverarity, done properly

Since 2005 we have resealed commercial washrooms for facilities teams, contractors and building owners. Our applicators are CSCS-carded, and we are CHAS accredited and a Constructionline member. We are fully insured. Every resealed washroom carries our 12-month guarantee. We work on accessible toilets and changing rooms, vanity units and basins and kitchens and tea points, and the failures we’re asked to look at most are sealant lifting along a tray edge and resealing that didn’t last because the old bead stayed. Whether you call it commercial sealant work, mastic application or joint sealing, the work in Inverarity is the same: failed joints cut out, faces prepared and the right sealant laid to the right depth.

In smaller Scottish places like Inverarity, commercial washrooms are typically in hotels, pubs, schools, care homes and community halls. Mould grows into sealant in any wet room that doesn’t dry out, and the answer is removal and a fresh bead of anti-mould silicone.

Work we carry out comes with a 12-month guarantee. If an installation problem shows up, speak to us on 01277 525 020 or email a schedule or drawings and we’ll arrange a return visit.

What the job involves on each surface

Kitchens and tea points

Kitchen joints need to be smooth and sealed so they can be cleaned properly. Food-safe sealants are used where food may touch the joint.

Showers and trays

In staff, hotel and changing-room showers, the tray joint and wall corners take the hardest use. Every joint is stripped, degreased, dried and given a new bead.

Cost factors for washrooms and wet areas

Your fixed quote is built from the real scope. It takes account of:

  • Whether old sealant has to be cut out first
  • Access and working height
  • How much there is to seal
  • Backing rod, priming and other preparation

Access can matter as much as the joints themselves: joints within easy reach take less time than ones that need access equipment. Tell us how the joints are reached and call for a quote.

Before you send an enquiry

We can often quote from photos and a few details. It helps to include:

  • The postcode of the building
  • Photos of the joints, close up and from further back
  • Any dates the work must fit around
  • Asbestos survey details if the building is older

A handful of photos and a postcode is the fastest way to a quote. Send them through the quote form, or call the office on 01277 525 020 or email us if you’d rather talk the job through.

Diagnose, treat, sign off

The first thing on site is a walk round with your contact, agreeing which joints are in scope, where to start and what must stay open. After that, any old or failed material is removed, each joint is prepared and the new sealant goes in. Tell us who will meet us and how to get in at your building near Inverarity. We will confirm the plan with the fixed quote.

  1. We agree which washrooms close and when.
  2. Anything behind the joints that needs another trade is flagged.
  3. Failed sealant and residue are stripped out.
  4. We reseal with the grade suited to each area.
  5. We confirm reopening times for each washroom.

What we need from you

  • Agree which areas must stay open
  • Let building users know which areas are affected
  • Make sure the joints can be reached

Commercial clients in Inverarity

Main contractors use us as their sealant subcontractor, on new build and refurbishment alike. Programme, specification and site rules come first.

As a CHAS accredited contractor and Constructionline member, we make supplier vetting simple. Our insurance certificate can be sent along with the quote.

Why deal with it now?

A tired-looking washroom doesn’t always need a refurbishment. Where tiles, panels and fittings are sound, new sealant may be enough to put it right for now. Around smaller places like Inverarity, halls, stores and seasonal buildings may not be checked often, giving water time to get in. Resealing early avoids that.

Small jobs and large programmes are priced from the same things: what’s in scope, how we reach it, what’s specified and when it needs doing. Call for a quote and we’ll put a fixed figure on it.

Why appoint us

  • Health and safety: CHAS accredited
  • Over 20 years of commercial sealing
  • 12 months’ guarantee on every job
  • Specification-led, product-correct work

Questions we’re asked in Inverarity

Must every washroom in our Inverarity building shut while you work?

Rarely all at once: work is phased so some facilities are always available. Each area is handed back once the sealant has cured enough to use.

Is Inverarity too far out for you?

Not at all. Inverarity is within our area. Our area covers all of Scotland, cities, towns and islands alike. We plan jobs in smaller places so return trips are kept to a minimum.

Will you quote for a small job?

Small jobs are welcome alongside larger packages. Photos and a description are enough to start.

Is it possible to just clean mouldy silicone?

Surface cleaning won’t reach mould that has rooted into the bead. We replace the sealant with an anti-mould sanitary grade and check the ventilation isn’t the cause.

What site paperwork can you supply?

Each site asks for different documents, so tell us what you need and we will confirm it when we quote.

Do your applicators hold CSCS cards?

Yes. Should the site need card details in advance, tell us and we’ll confirm them with the quote.

How do you deal with asbestos in old sealant?

Managing asbestos is the dutyholder’s responsibility, so for older buildings we ask for the asbestos register first. Work pauses if suspect material is found, until it has been tested.

Looking after the joints

Once the work is signed off, these steps help:

  • Note failing joints building by building
  • Clean sealant with gentle products and a soft cloth
  • Include joints in routine washroom inspections
  • Don’t leave trays and floors sitting wet

We hand each area back once the silicone has had the cure time the product needs. We’ll tell you when the wet areas can be used, and it helps if signs stay up until then.

Mould in a joint spreads along the bead and into nearby grout and users notice. Replacing it early keeps the job to a reseal.
