Why deal with it now?
An unsealed opening affects more than fire safety: smoke, noise and draughts pass through them every day. Sealing them to the specified detail deals with the fire risk first and the building feels the difference. One visit to deal with every failing joint makes more sense than several trips to a place like Great Tew, rather than one at a time. Photos of every joint help us quote for the whole job.
The work involved drives the cost: removing old material, preparing the joints, the product, the access and how the work is phased. Call for a quote and we will explain how it’s made up.
Why us?
- One phone line for London, the South East and Scotland
- Health and safety: CHAS accredited
- Specification-led, product-correct work
- Public liability insurance in place

About our fire stopping in Great Tew
No fire sealant works on its own: its test evidence covers one product in one kind of wall or floor, with set services, gaps, depths and backing. Before we seal anything, we check the opening against the detail it is meant to follow, and we say so if it doesn’t fit. We work on joints between fire-resisting walls and floors, pipe penetrations and linear gaps at wall heads, and the failures we’re asked to look at most are hidden openings found during inspections and penetration schedules that need working through. Searching for sealant specialists in Great Tew? We have been sealing commercial buildings since 2005, with CSCS-carded applicators.
Around smaller places like Great Tew, penetration seals come up in schools, halls, pubs with rooms, care homes and farm buildings used as offices. Any service penetration through those walls should be closed with the specified product, set out as its test evidence shows.
We sign every job off with a 12-month guarantee. The promise is simple: if the work we did fails within twelve months, we return to fix it.

FAQs: Great Tew
Is a smaller place like Great Tew outside your area?
Not at all: smaller places are covered as well as towns. We work across Greater London and the South East. Good photographs up front let us bring everything on the first visit.
Can you work at a site such as Enstone Airfield Industrial Estate, by Great Tew?
Yes. Estates, retail parks and business parks around Great Tew, Enstone Airfield Industrial Estate among them, are all within reach. A few photos and the unit address let us price the work.
Will you quote for a small job?
We quote for single jobs as well as large packages and programmes. Photos and a description are enough to start.
Do you work to architects’ specifications?
Yes. Send it with your enquiry, and we’ll price the work to it.
How do you choose the sealant?
The specification comes first, if there is one. If there isn’t one, it comes down to the joint: its movement, its surfaces and what it has to cope with.
Can you handle several sites?
Yes. We take on portfolio and planned maintenance work, with each site phased to suit its occupants.
Will you come and look before quoting?
It depends on the job. Straightforward work can often be priced from photographs and measurements, while larger or less clear jobs get a site visit first.
After the work
After handover, these steps help:
- Leave fire sealant to cure fully before covering it
- Include service cupboards in routine inspections
- Record which product was used where
- Put resealing into every M&E and fit-out package
Keep the product data and installation details with the building’s fire safety information. Anyone resealing later needs to know which product and detail were used.
Write fire stopping into the scope of any work crossing a compartment wall or floor. Then the seal goes in while the area is open, not months later.
When to bring in a specialist
Some joints are best left to specialists: for example fire-rated seals that must match a tested detail, trafficked floor joints and external movement joints. Getting these wrong normally costs more in the end than doing them right.
There’s also the paperwork. Main contractors and clients often ask for CSCS cards, RAMS and insurance details, and our CSCS-carded applicators are used to working under those rules.
Compartment walls and floors in Great Tew
At about 65 miles from central London, Great Tew is within reach of the capital. Office refits around the commuter belt bring new cabling through fire-resisting walls. For England, the fire stopping of penetrations is dealt with in Approved Document B. References to the older BS 476 classes are being removed from it from 2 September 2029, after which the European classification, BS EN 13501-2, is the route, subject to transitional arrangements. What we install is set by the specification, and it goes in to the tested detail.
For a building such as Church of St Michael and All Angels, new heating or data runs are the usual reason penetrations need sealing. Where a unit on an estate such as Enstone Airfield Industrial Estate, 2.2 miles to the south of Great Tew, has fire-resisting walls between offices and warehouse, any new service through them should be sealed to the tested detail. For a school such as Great Tew County Primary School, penetration sealing fits best at the end of the summer works.
