Floor joint sealing across Winnall

Send drawings, photos or a joint schedule, or tell us about the site, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.

For managing agents and facilities managers

Blocks and communal areas make up much of the work for housing associations and agents. We phase the work so people keep access, and each stage is agreed with your contact.

Whether you are a managing agent, a property factor or an owner’s representative: send the details, accept a fixed quote, and we carry out and guarantee the work. We can agree access arrangements and keyholder contacts beforehand.

Floor joint sealing for commercial buildings in Winnall

Open joints take a beating from forklift and pallet-truck wheels. Every pass chips at the bare concrete edge, and over time a neat cut turns into a ragged channel. Filling the joint properly gives the edges back their support. It also smooths the route for drivers and stock. We work on retail and showroom floors, loading bays and joints along racking aisles, and the failures we are asked to look at most are broken arrises where pallet trucks cross and a gap opening alongside old joint filler. Looking for mastic applicators who cover Winnall? We’ve been sealing commercial buildings since 2005, with CSCS-carded applicators.

Around Winnall, most floor and movement joint jobs are single buildings or yards, so we gather photographs and measurements first. That way the right materials come on the day and the job is done in one visit where possible.

Every job is signed off with a 12-month guarantee. It’s a plain promise: if the work we did fails within twelve months, we return to fix it.

What the job involves on each surface

Construction joints

Day joints on busy routes are prone to edge damage. We look at how much they are moving before choosing the treatment.

Isolation joints at walls and columns

Joints at walls and columns are often missed when floors are sealed, and they collect dust and debris. We include them in the survey.

Warehouse floors and decks around Winnall

Winnall has at least three named business or industrial parks inside a 3-mile radius. That puts plenty of warehouse floors, service yards and car parks close by, all with joints under traffic. The South East is one of the drier parts of the UK. External joints still wait for dry conditions, and winter de-icing salt on car parks and ramps works into any open joint.

Phasing is what makes joint work possible on busy sites such as Winnall Farm Industrial Estate (under half a mile west of Winnall): one bay, aisle or car park row at a time. For buildings at a park such as Easton Lane Business Park, which lies west of Winnall, brick and panel movement joints are easy to forget until one leaks. Hospital campuses such as Leigh House Hospital (0.6 miles east of Winnall) grow in stages, leaving movement joints wherever new blocks meet old.

Winnall is about 1 mile north-east of Winchester, in Hampshire. Any commercial site in Winnall is covered. We work across 723 places in Hampshire. Southampton is covered too, some 11 miles away.

If you need floor joint sealing in SO23, SO21 and SO20, the process matches everywhere else we work: send details, get a quote, we seal, guaranteed. For a building on Moss Road, Water Lane and Imber Road or nearby, we can quote for floor joints. With the M3 nearby, Winnall is easy to get to with materials and equipment. If your building is just outside Winnall, we cover Kings Worthy (2 miles north), Easton (2 miles north-east), Abbots Worthy (2 miles north), Temple Valley (2 miles east) and Morestead (3 miles south-east). A short drive away, we cover Eastleigh (7 miles south), Fareham (15 miles south), Andover (13 miles north-west), Totton (14 miles south-west), Chandler's Ford (7 miles south-west) and Alton (15 miles north-east).

Around Winnall

We work on buildings around Leigh House Hospital, The Golden Lion pub and St. Cross Park, among other places. For rail, the closest station is Winchester station, about 1 mile west. Nearby you will also find Winchester City Museum (0.8 miles west) and Wolvesey Castle (0.7 miles south-west). For a walk, there’s Winnall Moors and Twyford Down.

FAQs: Winnall

Is Winnall too far out for you?

No. Small places get the same service as large ones. We cover Greater London and the counties of the South East. Where we can, we group nearby jobs to make the most of each trip.

Does your area include sites such as Easton Lane Business Park, near Winnall?

Yes, sites like Easton Lane Business Park are within our area, along with the rest of Winnall. Photos and a short description are enough for a first look.

Can the sealant be colour-matched?

In many cases, yes. Many products come in a range of standard colours, and matching to RAL references or surrounding finishes is often possible. We’ll confirm the colours available for the specified product.

Will we need to close the floor?

The work is phased. Areas are taken out of use a section at a time around the site hours and access windows you give us.

Are you CHAS accredited?

Yes. We are CHAS accredited and a Constructionline member, which helps with supplier vetting.

Can you follow the specification on our project?

Yes. Send it with your enquiry, and the quote will be based on it.

Are your applicators CSCS-carded?

Yes. Our applicators hold CSCS cards, as many construction sites ask for.

General trades versus a specialist

Paperwork matters too. Many sites expect CSCS cards, RAMS and proof of insurance, and our CSCS-carded applicators are used to working under those rules.

Redoing a failed joint usually costs more than getting it right at the outset, because the whole bead must be removed and the faces cleaned back again. That’s why many clients bring in a specialist from the beginning.

Quoting for work in Winnall

To price the job, we consider:

  • The product specified
  • Access and working height
  • Whether old sealant has to be cut out first
  • Quantities, in metres or numbers

Every site prices differently: the joint sizes, the specified product, access and working hours each have a bearing. Send the details and a fixed figure follows.

What to include in your enquiry

Good information means a firmer quote. Helpful details to send:

  • Specification clauses that apply
  • When you need the work done
  • The postcode of the building
  • The asbestos register, for older buildings

Every job follows the same four steps: send details, get a quote, we seal, guaranteed. To take the first step, give us a call on 01277 525 020 or send details through our quote form.

What happens if it’s left?

Not every joint needs stripping out completely. If old material is sound on one face and only a fine gap has opened, it may not all have to come out, and we will say which joints need what. Sealant hardens, cracks and loses grip with age, UV and movement. Renewing it in good time keeps the building weathertight.

Access can matter as much as the joints themselves: easy-to-reach joints are quicker than those that need equipment to get to. Mention the access as part of your enquiry.

Diagnose, treat, sign off

When we get to site, we report to your site contact and complete whatever induction the building runs. Everything around the joints gets protected before any cutting starts, with the work itself normally taking between a day and a number of days, set by the joint lengths, the edge condition and the phasing you need. For a job in Winnall, the main thing is a clear picture of the work, so send photographs of each area. A fixed quote follows.

  1. We agree the traffic routes and phasing with your site team.
  2. Any joints with broken edges are flagged before work starts.
  3. Failed material and debris are removed and the joint cleaned.
  4. We fill the joints with the agreed product, finished level.
  5. You get a time for each zone to reopen.

Preparing the site

  • Share your working hours and any access restrictions
  • Explain the parking and delivery arrangements
  • Clear stock, furniture or equipment away from the joints
