About our construction mastic in Laggan
Site managers want applicators who turn up with the right cards and paperwork. We are a Constructionline member and CHAS accredited, and every applicator holds a CSCS card, and we are fully insured. Tell us what site paperwork you need (RAMS, insurance certificate, CSCS details) and we’ll confirm with the quote. We work on window and door perimeters, brick and block movement joints and sanitary and kitchen joints, and the usual reasons a site gets in touch are window and door perimeters that won’t pass inspection and bath and shower joints scraped during the final clean. Sealant contractors, mastic applicators, sealant specialists: whatever the job title on the order, the work in Laggan is the same: the right product in a properly prepared joint.
Outside mastic in Scotland needs a dry, frost-clear joint, and in a place like Laggan that means watching the forecast. A little flexibility in the programme lets external joints go in on suitable days.
Building owners and contractors get the same cover: a 12-month guarantee on our workmanship. It doesn’t extend to damage, faults in the building or work by others, and we are upfront about that.

Your questions answered
Which documents can you supply for work in Laggan?
Whatever your site asks for, from RAMS to CSCS details, is confirmed when we quote. We’re CHAS accredited and a Constructionline member, with £5m public liability insurance and CSCS-carded applicators.
Is Laggan too far out for you?
Not at all. Laggan is within our area. We work across every Scottish council area. We plan jobs in smaller places so return trips are kept to a minimum.
How do I request a quote?
The quote form is the simplest route, though you can also speak to us on 01277 525 020 or email the details over. Include photos or drawings if you have them.
Do you take on multi-site work?
Yes. A group of buildings can go on one quote, with one point of contact across South East England, Greater London and Scotland.
What does a mastic package normally include?
It depends on the specification, but most packages include frame perimeters, sanitary and kitchen joints, caulking where specified and a snagging pass.
Can the building stay open while you work?
Yes, with some planning. Tell us your site hours and access windows and we will plan around them.
Which sealant will you use?
Where there’s a specification, we use the product it names. Otherwise, we recommend a product to suit the joint’s movement, the substrate and the conditions, following the manufacturer’s guidance.

Advice
How the job changes by surface
Kitchens and utility areas
On commercial kitchen fit-outs, hygienic sealants are often specified. Joints are sealed smooth so they’re easy to clean.
Fire-rated sealant where specified
Fire-rated sealant is one type of fire-stopping product. Other products are used for some services and gaps, and we will tell you if the detail calls for something else. Tell us what records you need and we’ll confirm with the quote.
New build and refits around Laggan
Scotland has its own building regulations, and in Laggan warrants come from the local authority verifier. The mastic package follows the approved specification. Laggan is in the west of Scotland, the wetter side of the country. Outside mastic is booked around the forecast, and internal sealing fills the gaps.
Window perimeters and facade joints around Laggan need correct width, depth and backing rod as much as a neat finish. Sites around Laggan get mastic sealed to the drawings and the programme, nothing improvised.

Why act early in Laggan
Refurbishments sometimes budget for new windows when the frames are sound and only the seal has failed. Sound frames often need only a new perimeter seal, which is a much smaller cost. We’ll say so if a frame itself is the problem. In Scotland, wind-driven rain finds a failed joint quickly, so it’s worth renewing joints around Laggan before they leak.
Access can matter as much as the joints themselves: easy-to-reach joints are quicker than those that need equipment to get to. Mention the access as part of your enquiry.
Why appoint us
- Over 20 years of commercial sealing
- Coloured sealants to suit the setting, where available
- 12 months’ guarantee on every job
- Work to your specification and the manufacturer’s guidance
Site staff or a sealant specialist?
Redoing a failed joint typically costs more than getting it right at the outset, because the whole bead must be removed and the faces cleaned back again. That’s why many clients bring in a specialist from the beginning.
There’s also the paperwork. Many sites expect CSCS cards, RAMS and proof of insurance, and our CSCS-carded applicators are used to working under those rules.
What sealant work can’t fix
Not every problem is a sealant problem, and we’re upfront when that’s the case. It won’t fix:
- Fire-stopping design or sign-off (that’s for the designer, fire engineer and building control)
- Defective windows, doors or glazing units (the supplier or installer’s job)
- Specifying the product where the designer hasn’t
If in doubt, call 01277 525 020 or email us and we will say what we think before you book.
Surfaces we seal
- Window and door perimeters
- Brick and block movement joints
- Floor and skirting junctions
- Internal decorators’ caulk
- Sanitary and kitchen joints
- Cladding and panel joints
Keeping the joints sound
Once the work is signed off, a little attention goes a long way:
- Stick to the specified sealant rather than a generic substitute
- Ask cleaners to use soft cloths around fresh sealant
- Keep product details for future maintenance
- Don’t schedule sealing before decorators and flooring are done
Tell the builders’ clean team which areas have new sealant. Blades and abrasive pads are the commonest cause of damage at the final clean.
Frames with gaps too wide for sealant need sorting before the mastic goes on. Sealant stretched over an oversized gap won’t last. We raise them during our first walk of the area.
