Coloured sealant for commercial buildings in Radclive

Architects, designers and brand teams often specify the sealant colour as carefully as the finishes around it. Standard sealant ranges cover many colours, and we will confirm the colours available for the specified product at quote stage. We don’t promise an exact custom match, but we will show you the closest options. If you have previous reseals that don’t match the original and weathered sealant that no longer matches, we can help, on powder-coated and anodised frames, hotel bathrooms and public areas and natural stone and brick alike. Looking for mastic applicators who cover Radclive? We have been sealing commercial buildings since 2005, CHAS accredited and a Constructionline member.

Rural business units near smaller places such as Radclive are frequently converted agricultural buildings. Old masonry beside new aluminium, timber and plasterboard gives plenty of joints between materials that move differently, and a sealant colour that suits the building’s character is often part of the brief.

Work we carry out comes with a 12-month guarantee. Should something we installed fail, phone 01277 525 020 or send details through our quote form and we will come back to it.

Why act early in Radclive

Standard white or grey sealant is cheaper to stock, but it doesn’t always suit the finish. Where joints are on show, choosing a better colour is usually worth it at handover. Halls, stores and units around places like Radclive may not be checked every day, so a failed joint can leak for a while before anyone sees it. Resealing early avoids that.

We don’t publish prices, because the scope varies so much from one building to the next. For a fixed figure, call for a quote and we will price your job on its own details.

Why us?

  • One phone line for London, the South East and Scotland
  • Colour agreed before work starts
  • CSCS-carded applicators
  • Colours chosen to suit frames, cladding or finishes where possible

Read our cost guide or our accreditations and insurance.

Surface by surface

Cladding panels

Multi-coloured cladding needs a joint colour that works across it. Sometimes a mid-tone suits better than matching one panel, and a sample settles it.

Natural stone

Sandstone, limestone and granite each have distinct tones. Colour is agreed on site where possible after a sample if needed.

Questions about Radclive

Do hotels near Radclive have to close for sealant work?

Rarely. Rooms or floors are done in turn, so the rest of the hotel keeps trading. The plan is built around your bookings.

Is Radclive too far out for you?

Not at all: smaller places are covered as well as towns. London and every South East county are within our area. Where we can, we group nearby jobs to make the most of each trip.

When is resealing likely to be due?

There’s no fixed lifespan: movement, exposure, cleaning, traffic and the product all play a part. Treat them as maintenance items and inspect them regularly.

What do you charge?

Each job is quoted on its own details. To get one, ring 01277 525 020 or email the details over.

Do you do a sample bead?

Yes. Tell us who approves colour and we’ll plan the sample into the programme so sign-off doesn’t hold up the work.

Does a coloured sealant perform differently from a standard one?

The colour doesn’t change what kind of sealant it is. Preparation, backing and tooling are what make it last in any colour.

What if there’s asbestos in the old mastic?

Asbestos is possible in some older mastics, particularly in buildings from before 2000. We check the asbestos register before cutting out old sealant in an older building, and if asbestos is suspected, work stops until it’s tested. Removing asbestos is a job for asbestos specialists, not us.

Coloured sealant around Radclive: how the place shapes the job

Rainfall across the South East, Radclive included, is lower than in many parts of the UK. Even so, outside sealing waits for a dry joint, and cold, damp mornings can delay it. At least three named trading, business or retail sites lie within about 3 miles of Radclive. Units on sites like these change tenants and get refitted, and each refit leaves joints to seal; brand colours often come into it.

Industrial estates such as Tingewick Road Industrial Estate, 0.8 miles east of Radclive, have offices, trade counters and welfare areas whose sealant ages like any other building’s. If you have premises on more than one site, say at Tingewick Road Industrial Estate and Moreton Road Industrial Estate, one contractor and one quote can cover both. For a hotel such as Villiers Hotel, 1.2 miles east of Radclive, the colour of a joint at the bar or the bath matters to the look of the room.

General trades versus a specialist

The visible bead is only part of the job. Backing rod, primer where specified and a joint designed to move with the building are where general trades tend to cut corners.

Some joints are best left to specialists: fire-rated seals that must follow a tested detail, trafficked floor joints and external movement joints among them. A poor seal in places like these tends to cost more to put right later.

Honest limits

A proper diagnosis includes knowing what sealant can’t do. You’ll hear from us if the cause turns out to be one of these:

  • Preventing all fading from sunlight and weathering
  • Cleaning or repairing the surrounding finishes
  • Paint over sealant on joints that move too much

If you are not sure, just speak to us on 01277 525 020 or email the details over and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

What we seal

  • Office fit-out finishes
  • Shop-fit joinery and counters
  • Natural stone and brick
  • Cladding panels
  • Powder-coated and anodised frames
  • Hotel bathrooms and public areas

Looking after the joints

Once the work is signed off, these steps help:

  • Keep the colour details for future repairs
  • Use one colour standard across multi-site work
  • Look at the cured colour before the full run
  • Plan full-run reseals on visible elevations

If other trades disturb a coloured joint, ask them to tell you rather than patch it. Wrong-colour patches are obvious, undoing the look you paid for.

Include coloured joints in a planned maintenance cycle. A planned reseal avoids a run of patch repairs over the years.

On site: what to expect

Before we leave any area, the masking comes off, the area is cleaned and every joint is checked, ready for your sign-off. Where the sealant needs time to cure before use, we tell you and sign the area. Rural sites near Radclive may need directions, gate codes or a contact on site. Add it to your enquiry and we will build it into the plan.

  1. We confirm the joint type and the product it needs.
  2. We compare the target colour with the colours available.
  3. You approve the colour, on site if it’s critical.
  4. The existing bead comes out, then faces are cleaned and backed.
  5. We mask, seal and tool to a clean line.
  6. Masking comes off and the work is checked with you.

Before we start on site

  • Let building users know which areas are affected
  • Agree which areas must stay open
  • Explain the parking and delivery arrangements
