About our construction mastic in Crouch
Site managers want applicators who turn up with the right cards and paperwork. Our applicators are CSCS-carded, and we are CHAS accredited and a Constructionline member. Tell us what site paperwork you need (RAMS, insurance certificate, CSCS details) and we’ll confirm with the quote. If you’re dealing with bath and shower joints scraped during the final clean and caulk cracking where joints are moving more than expected, we can put it right, on internal decorators’ caulk, cladding and panel joints and sanitary and kitchen joints alike. A specialist sealant contractor works differently from a general builder: on jobs in Crouch, preparation and product choice get the time they need.
For a site near Crouch, the mastic visit is planned so the right sealants, primers and backing rod are on hand, timed to the stage the job has reached. Drawings, photos and the programme let us give a fixed quote.
Our 12-month guarantee is about workmanship, not wear and tear. How long a sealant joint lasts depends on movement, exposure, cleaning and use, so we spell out the cover before we begin.

Common questions from Crouch clients
Will you fit the mastic around our build programme in Crouch?
Yes, we work to the programme and the sequence the site sets. Let us know which documents your site asks for, and we will confirm them alongside the quote.
Is Crouch too small for you to travel to?
No. Small places get the same service as large ones. We cover Greater London and the counties of the South East. We plan jobs in smaller places so return trips are kept to a minimum.
What if there’s asbestos in the old mastic?
Asbestos is possible in some older mastics, particularly in buildings from before 2000. Before we disturb old sealant in an older building, we ask to see the asbestos register or survey, and if asbestos is suspected, work stops until it’s tested. We don’t remove asbestos-containing materials.
Do you use the sealant named in the specification?
The specified product is what goes in. If we think an alternative would suit better, we put it to you first.
Can weather delay the job?
Outside, yes. The joint has to be dry and within the product’s temperature range, so frost, rain or cold mornings can delay outside work. Internal work is rarely affected.
Do you work to architects’ specifications?
Yes. The specification and the manufacturer’s installation guidance are what we work to, and any queries are raised before we start.
Can fire-rated sealing at service penetrations be included?
Fire-rated sealant can be included where it’s specified, installed to the product’s tested detail. Fire-stopping design and sign-off sit with the designer and building control.
Construction mastic in Crouch: the local picture
Central London is about 47 miles from Crouch. Commuter-belt towns tend to see a steady flow of new flats, offices and commercial schemes, so mastic packages have to keep pace with busy programmes. Crouch sits in one of the drier corners of the country, the South East. Still, external mastic needs dry faces within the maker’s temperature limits, which isn’t every day, so the external programme keeps a little slack.
For contractors at a school such as Boughton-under-Blean and Dunkirk Primary School, sealing has to be finished before term starts. For a contractor at a hotel such as Cave Hotel and Golf Resort, which lies north of Crouch, the mastic often has to be finished before a reopening date. With historic properties like Belmont House and Gardens, 4.2 miles west of Crouch, in the area, refurbishment work often meets old masonry that needs compatible sealants.
Crouch is about 3 miles south-east of Preston, in Kent. Anywhere in ME13, the process is the same: details in, fixed quote out, then sealing and a 12-month guarantee. Crouch is one of 931 places we cover in Kent. We also cover London, around 47 miles from Crouch.
Business premises anywhere in ME13 are within our area. We also cover South Street (1 mile south-east), Gushmere (1 mile south-west), Neames Forstal (1 mile south), Hickmans Green (1 mile east) and Oversland (1 mile south-east) for mastic packages. A short drive away, we cover Ashford (10 miles south), Canterbury (6 miles east), Sittingbourne (10 miles north-west), Whitstable (6 miles north-east), Faversham (3 miles north-west) and Herne Bay (10 miles north-east).

Kitchens and utility areas
On commercial kitchen fit-outs, hygienic sealants are often specified. Joints are sealed smooth so they’re easy to clean.
Internal decorators’ caulk
Acrylic caulk fills internal gaps around trims, boards and frames ahead of decorating. It’s paintable and suits gaps that don’t move, and we use a flexible sealant where there’s movement.

Work for main contractors and building owners
FMs need a contractor who is easy to get on site. Let us know the documents you need (RAMS, insurance certificate, CSCS details) and we will confirm them with the quote.
Hospitality, education, healthcare, office and retail clients come to us directly as well. We plan around the way the building is used, so the building keeps working while we do.
From enquiry to sign-off
We begin with a short walk round with whoever looks after the building, agreeing which joints are in scope, where to start and what must stay open. After that, any old or failed material is removed, each joint is prepared and the new sealant goes in. Rural sites near Crouch may need directions, gate codes or a contact on site. Send that with the details and we will confirm the plan with the quote.
- We price from the drawings, specification and programme you send.
- You receive a fixed quote listing scope, products and phasing.
- Any site paperwork you need (RAMS, insurance certificate, CSCS details) is confirmed with the quote.
- We seal each plot or floor as it’s released to us.
- Each joint is prepared, backed to depth and sealed in the product the specification names.
- Before handover, snags are dealt with and the package is signed off under our 12-month guarantee.
Before we start on site
- Share your working hours and any access restrictions
- Send asbestos survey details if the building is pre-2000
- Arrange parking or a loading space
Request a quote
Every quote starts with the facts: the joints involved, quantities, access and the product called for. Send what you have, and we’ll arrange a site visit if anything is unclear.
Advice
Keeping the joints sound
To get the most from the new sealant:
- Ask for joint and product checks before the package is urgent
- Bring the mastic contractor in after the last trades are through
- Put any product change through the designer first
- Keep product details for future maintenance
At handover, keep the product details with the O&M information. Future maintenance is easier when the products are known. Tell us what records you need and we will confirm with the quote.
Sealing outside when the joint is damp or too cold leads to poor adhesion. Holding off until conditions suit avoids callbacks so external sequencing builds in some flexibility.
Honest limits
Before quoting, we check that sealant is the right answer. It won’t put right:
- Oversized gaps that need packing or adjustment by others
- Designing joint widths or choosing the specification (that sits with the designer)
- Deciding which fire-stopping product a penetration needs
If in doubt, call the office on 01277 525 020 or send details through our quote form and we’ll say what we think before you book.
What we seal
- Window and door perimeters
- Sanitary and kitchen joints
- Floor and skirting junctions
- Brick and block movement joints
- Internal decorators’ caulk
- Cladding and panel joints
Should maintenance staff do it?
General builders and handymen seal joints, but it isn’t their main trade. A specialist brings correct preparation, depth control with backing rod and a product suited to that particular joint, which is what makes a joint last.
Some joints are best left to specialists: for example fire-rated seals that must match a tested detail, trafficked floor joints and external movement joints. A poor seal in places like these tends to cost more to put right later.
