Mastic packages on Ash Vale sites
Ash Vale is about 32 miles from central London. Towns within reach of London tend to keep building, from flats to offices and schools, so mastic packages have to keep pace with busy programmes. The South East is one of the drier parts of the UK. Winter mornings still bring frost and condensation on frames and panels, so external mastic is timed for workable conditions and agreed with the site manager.
New units and refits on sites such as Stubs Industrial Estate (to the west of Ash Vale) need their panel and perimeter joints sealed to the specification. New wings at hospitals like Frimley Park Hospital (3.8 miles north of Ash Vale) bring long runs of window and panel joints to seal. University estates such as University for the Creative Arts (4.9 miles south-west of Ash Vale) tend to have a rolling programme of new buildings and refurbishments, each with window perimeters and facade joints to seal.
Ash Vale is about 2 miles north-east of Aldershot, in Surrey. Any commercial site in Ash Vale is covered. We work across 379 places in Surrey, from busy centres to rural villages. Reading is covered too, around 17 miles from Ash Vale.
Postcode districts covered here: GU12 and GU14 for mastic packages. Streets here include Station Road East, Station Road West and Waverley Drive, and sites on any of them can send details for a fixed quote. Access to Ash Vale is via the B3165 and B3166 among other routes. Close to Ash Vale, our area also takes in Ash (1 mile south), North Camp (1 mile north-west), Mytchett (2 miles north), Ash Green (2 miles south-east) and Aldershot (2 miles south-west). Construction mastic in Ash Vale
Mastic is often where a new building first shows its quality to the client. A smeared bead round a window or a gap behind a worktop ends up on the snag list, and every return visit costs time. We seal so the snag list stays short, area by area through the programme. If you have internal caulk splitting as the building dries out and frame gaps too wide for sealant alone, we can put it right, whatever the surface. Looking for mastic applicators who cover Ash Vale? Mastic Doctor has worked for contractors, FMs and building owners since 2005.
For a contractor on a smaller site near Ash Vale, one mastic visit at the right stage saves return trips. Tell us when scaffold comes down and when decoration finishes, and we’ll plan around those stages.
Whoever the client is, the cover is the same: twelve months on the work we carried out. Faults in the structure, damage and other trades’ work fall outside it, and we say so plainly.

Site staff or a sealant specialist?
For most general trades, sealant is a sideline. A specialist brings correct preparation, depth control with backing rod and a product suited to that particular joint, which is what makes a joint last.
There’s also the paperwork. Many sites expect CSCS cards, RAMS and proof of insurance, and we will confirm the paperwork you need with the quote.
Different surfaces, different methods
Fire-rated sealant where specified
Where the specification calls for fire-rated or intumescent sealant around service penetrations or linear gaps, we install it to the manufacturer’s tested detail. Fire stopping design belongs to the designer and building control.
Kitchens and utility areas
Commercial kitchens often need hygienic or food-safe sealants. We follow the specification and seal to a smooth, cleanable finish.
What sealant work can’t fix
We check first that sealant really is the fix. It won’t put right:
- Fire-stopping design or sign-off (that’s for the designer, fire engineer and building control)
- Frame gaps too wide for sealant, which the installer needs to correct
- Joints damaged after sign-off by following trades
Not sure which it is? You can call 01277 525 020 or email us and we will tell you honestly.

On site: what to expect
The first thing on site is a walk round with your contact, agreeing which joints are in scope, where to start and what must stay open. Then we strip out anything that has failed, prepare every joint and seal it. For a site in Ash Vale, we plan so the whole job is done in one go where possible. Clear photographs and measurements help us bring the right products.
- First we take quantities off the drawings and read through the specification.
- A fixed quote sets out the scope, the products and the sequence.
- Any site paperwork you need (RAMS, insurance certificate, CSCS details) is confirmed with the quote.
- We seal each plot or floor as it’s released to us.
- Joints are cleaned, primed where the maker requires it, backed and sealed to the specification.
- Snags are cleared before handover and completed areas carry our 12-month guarantee.
Before we start on site
- Share your working hours and any access restrictions
- Tell us which areas need to stay in use
- For older buildings, check the asbestos register before work
Quotes
Send us photographs, drawings or a joint schedule are often enough for a fixed quote. If the job needs a look first, we will arrange a site visit.

Your questions answered
Could you schedule work at a campus like University for the Creative Arts for the vacation?
Yes. We plan campus work around teaching, exams and residence turnarounds. We are CHAS accredited and a Constructionline member, and paperwork such as RAMS is confirmed with the quote.
Is a smaller place like Ash Vale outside your area?
No. Small places get the same service as large ones. We work across Greater London and the South East. Where we can, we group nearby jobs to make the most of each trip.
Are you CHAS accredited?
Our applicators hold CSCS cards, and we’re CHAS accredited and a Constructionline member. We are also fully insured, with five million pounds of public liability cover.
How do I request a quote?
You can use the quote form on this site; alternatively, call 01277 525 020 or email us. Include photos or drawings if you have them.
Can you follow the specification on our project?
Yes. The specification and the manufacturer’s installation guidance are what we work to, and any queries are raised before we start.
Is colour matching possible?
That depends on the product. Some ranges are wide, others limited, so we’ll confirm the colours available for the specified product with the quote.
Will you stick to the specified products?
We use the product the specification names. Any suggested alternative is put to you before anything changes.
Building owners, agents and FMs in Ash Vale
Planned maintenance programmes are welcome: working through a building or an estate in stages that fit your budget. Sites in Ash Vale can sit alongside others in a wider programme across Surrey.
For main contractors, we work as the sealant subcontractor, on new build and refurbishment alike. We work to your programme, your specification and your site rules.
What happens if it’s left?
Some packages split mastic across the window fitter, kitchen fitter and plumber. In practice it often means different standards, gaps in responsibility and snags nobody owns. A single mastic package gives one point of responsibility. In a smaller place such as Ash Vale, getting a contractor back for a second visit takes time, so it’s worth dealing with every failing joint at once.
Quantities, awkward access and phased working all shape the price. Site requirements like inductions and permits play a part as well, along with the time of year for external work.
