Sealant applicators in Froyle
Most of the buildings we seal stay open while we are there. Work is scheduled around the site hours and access windows you give us; phased work can also be planned so areas stay in use. It’s the same approach in offices, retail units, hotels, schools and healthcare buildings. The enquiries we see most involve window and door perimeter joints that have cracked open and external beads that have gone brittle and cracked, across window and door perimeters, movement joints in walls and floors and washrooms and tea points. Most enquiries from Froyle start with one failed joint and grow into a wider look at the building: we look at the rest while we’re there and tell you what we find.
The most common commercial job in Froyle is resealing joints that have simply reached the end of their life: hardened, cracked or shrunk away from the faces, and letting water or dirt in.
Business units in the countryside around places like Froyle are often converted barns, stables or farmyards. Old masonry beside new aluminium, timber and plasterboard gives plenty of joints between materials that move differently, and a sealant colour that suits the building’s character is often part of the brief.
What our 12-month guarantee covers is the way we did the job: the preparation, the sealing and the tooling. It doesn’t extend to damage, other trades’ later work or movement the joint was never designed to take.

Your questions answered
Is a smaller place like Froyle outside your area?
No. Places such as Froyle are covered as much as the big towns. We cover Greater London and the counties of the South East. Good photos up front let us bring everything on the first visit.
Can you supply sealant in our brand colour for a site in Froyle?
Yes. Colour matching to frames, cladding, stone and shop-fit finishes is a regular part of the work. Send colour references or photos and we’ll confirm what’s available for the product.
What guarantee do you give on resealing?
A 12-month guarantee covers the workmanship. Looking after the joints as we advise helps them last.
How do you choose the sealant?
If the job is specified, we follow the specification. Otherwise, we recommend a product to suit the joint’s movement, the substrate and the conditions, following the manufacturer’s guidance.
Could the old sealant in an older building contain asbestos?
Some older mastics did contain asbestos. So we check the register first and stop work on anything suspect until it’s tested.
Can you supply RAMS and insurance details?
Let us know your requirements when you ask for a price, and the paperwork is confirmed with the quote. From you, we will need the asbestos information for older buildings and any site rules.
How long before the joints can be used?
Curing time varies by product, and we confirm it on the day, and flag anything to keep off until it has cured.

Honest limits
We seal joints; we don’t mend everything behind them. Sealant alone won’t deal with:
- Roof leaks that only look like a joint problem
- Removing asbestos-containing materials (a licensed or specialist contractor’s job)
- Misted, cracked or failed glazing units (a glazier’s job)
Not sure which it is? You can phone 01277 525 020 or send photos by email and we will tell you honestly before you book.
Joints and surfaces we work on
- Floor and threshold joints
- Kitchen worktops and splashbacks
- Washrooms and tea points
- Movement joints in walls and floors
- External facade joints
- Window and door perimeters
Looking after the joints
Every sealant joint needs some looking after, and how long they last depends on how they’re treated. We suggest:
- Check joints after other trades have worked nearby
- Ask cleaners to use a soft cloth and mild cleaner on sealant
- Report cracked or peeling sealant early
- Have extract fans checked so wet areas dry out
Give fresh sealant time to cure before it’s cleaned, wetted or walked past. That time depends on the product, the temperature and the joint depth, and we confirm it when each area is handed back. Leaving the area closed until then keeps the bead neat.
Movement joints that fill with debris stop working. With nothing soft to close against, the materials either side take the load and start to break up. At that point it’s a repair job rather than a reseal.
How the job changes by surface
Movement joints in walls and floors
Floor joints that take trolleys or forklifts need a tougher filler or sealant. We will recommend the right filler or sealant for the traffic and movement.
Fire-rated seals where specified
Where the specification calls for fire-rated or intumescent sealant around service penetrations or linear gaps, we install it to the product’s tested detail. Fire-stopping design and sign-off sit with the designer, fire engineer or building control, and we install to the specification.
Why act early in Froyle
A failed seal around a window, worktop or panel doesn’t mean the element itself has to go. In many cases the element is fine and only the seal around it has given up. A careful reseal is a far smaller undertaking than replacement, though we’ll tell you honestly if the element itself is the problem. Older rural buildings around Froyle move with the seasons, and rigid or tired sealant can’t keep up. The right product, sized to the joint, copes much better.
Access often affects the price as much as the sealing: easy-to-reach joints are quicker than those that need equipment to get to. Mention the access as part of your enquiry.
