Coloured sealant in Hale

Tell us what needs sealing and where, with photos or drawings if you have them, and we’ll price it.

Coloured sealant in Hale, done properly

Colour is often written into the specification, by RAL reference or by matching a sample. Standard sealant ranges cover many colours, so we check what the specified product is made in before we quote. An exact bespoke match can’t always be promised, so we talk you through the nearest colours. If you’re dealing with a bead that fights the cladding or frame colour and previous reseals that don’t match the original, we can put it right. Looking for mastic applicators who cover Hale? We’ve been sealing commercial buildings since 2005, CHAS accredited and a Constructionline member.

Commercial sealant work around smaller places like Hale tends to mean pubs and restaurants, halls, farm shops and offices in converted farm buildings. Kitchens, toilets and window frames in all of them need resealing sooner or later.

Whoever the client is, the cover is the same: twelve months on the work we carried out. It doesn’t extend to damage, faults in the building or work by others, and we are upfront about that.

Questions we’re asked in Hale

Is Hale off your patch?

No. Places such as Hale are covered as much as the big towns. We cover Greater London and the counties of the South East. Where we can, we group nearby jobs to make the most of each trip.

Will you take on work at estates like Farnham Trading Estate, close to Hale?

Yes. We cover Hale and the area around it, including industrial estates, business parks and retail parks such as Farnham Trading Estate. Photos and a short description are enough for a first look.

Is it fine to apply new sealant on top of old?

No. Sealing over old material is one of the classic causes of early joint failure, so everything comes out first.

Can you follow the specification on our project?

Yes. Send it with your enquiry, and we will price the work to it, flagging anything that needs clarifying.

How do you deal with asbestos in old sealant?

Some older mastics, especially in pre-2000 buildings, can contain asbestos. Before we disturb old sealant in an older building, we ask to see the asbestos register or survey, and if asbestos is suspected, work stops until it’s tested. Removing asbestos is a job for asbestos specialists, not us.

Are you CHAS accredited and on Constructionline?

Yes. Mastic Doctor is CHAS accredited and a Constructionline member, which helps with supplier vetting.

Does coloured sealant change colour outdoors?

It can, to a degree. How much depends on the product, the colour and the exposure, so no colour stays exactly the same for ever.

Should maintenance staff do it?

Paperwork matters too. Main contractors and clients often ask for CSCS cards, RAMS and insurance details, and our CSCS-carded applicators are used to working under those rules.

Putting right a botched joint often costs more than sealing it well at the start, since all of it has to come out and the faces be cleaned back again. For that reason, many FMs and contractors use a sealant specialist from the outset.

Maintenance after handover

To get the most from the new sealant:

  • Clean coloured joints with mild products
  • Standardise colours across a portfolio
  • Don’t let trades patch coloured joints with a random sealant
  • Note which sealant colour was used where

Note the sealant type and colour on the building file. Future repairs can then use the same colour.

Settle the colour early in the project. Late decisions lead to substitutes and mismatches; fixing it early prevents rework.

Owners, agents and contractors

CHAS accredited and a Constructionline member, we make supplier vetting simple. Our insurance certificate can be sent along with the quote.

Planned maintenance programmes are welcome: working through a building or an estate in stages that fit your budget. Sites in Hale can sit alongside others in a wider programme.

Common problems we fix in Hale

Internal joints can stain from cleaning products, spills or mould. Mould that has rooted into a bead rarely cleans out, so replacement is the fix.

Clients usually get in touch after noticing one or more of the following:

  • Dirty, discoloured joints in public areas
  • Patch repairs in several different colours
  • Untidy coloured beads with ragged edges
  • Fit-outs with a sealant colour in the specification

Occupiers with premises at both Farnham Trading Estate and Hurlands Business Centre could have the sealant at each handled under one quote.

Questions to ask before you book

  • The named product and why it was chosen
  • How long is the guarantee, and what does it include?
  • Is depth set with backing rod, or bond-breaker tape in shallow joints?
  • Whether old or failed sealant will be cut out, not overlaid

Working on commercial sites near Hale

Hale has seven care or nursing homes no more than 2 miles away. Kitchens and communal rooms in care settings are cleaned constantly, so their joints need to be smooth and sound. Hale lies roughly 35 miles out from central London. The South East around the capital has large numbers of business parks, offices and retail centres, especially around the motorway corridors. Occupiers with several premises in the region tend to prefer one contractor and one point of contact.

If you run a unit on an estate such as Farnham Trading Estate, which lies south-east of Hale, the trade counter, offices and staff facilities have joints to look after as well as the warehouse. In a retail centre such as Farnham Retail Park, 0.8 miles south of Hale, new tenants mean new shop fits, and the sealant at counters, frontages and floor edges is part of the finish.

Hale is about 1 mile north of Farnham, in Surrey. Anywhere in GU9, the process is the same: details in, fixed quote out, then sealing and a 12-month guarantee. Across Surrey, 379 places are covered, Hale among them. Our Reading page has more on work in that area.

Postcode districts covered here: GU9 for colour-matched joints. Streets here include Fairview Gardens, Farnborough Road and White Cottage Close, and sites on any of them can send details for a fixed quote. Sites close to Hale are covered too, including Heath End (1 mile north), Weybourne (1 mile north-east), Upper Hale (1 mile north-west), Badshot Lea (1 mile east) and Farnham (1 mile south). A short drive away, we cover Guildford (9 miles east), Woking (11 miles north-east), Camberley (8 miles north), Frimley (6 miles north), Haslemere (10 miles south) and Cranleigh (15 miles south-east).

When something else is needed

Sealant solves a lot, but not everything, and we’re upfront when that’s the case. These need a different solution:

  • Custom-mixed sealant colours
  • Overpainting a joint that needs a non-paintable product
  • A colour that never alters with age

If you’re not sure, just speak to us on 01277 525 020 or email the details over and we will give you a straight answer.

Surfaces we seal

  • Natural stone and brick
  • Hotel bathrooms and public areas
  • Powder-coated and anodised frames
  • Cladding panels
  • Shop-fit joinery and counters
  • Office fit-out finishes

How a job runs

Diagnose, treat, sign off: every visit follows that pattern. We inspect the joints and confirm what’s in scope, then the work is carried out to the specified product and detail, and the job ends with a walk round and sign-off. Rural sites near Hale may need directions, gate codes or a contact on site. Send that with the details and we’ll confirm the plan with the quote.

  1. We start with photos, drawings or a visit to see the finishes.
  2. We send the closest colours from the product’s range.
  3. The programme and access are agreed, including any phasing.
  4. Joints are prepared, primed where specified and backed.
  5. The agreed colour is installed and tooled neatly.

Preparing the site

  • Warn occupants and staff about the work
  • Point out any areas we must not close
  • Clear stock, furniture or equipment away from the joints
