Coloured sealant in Faringdon

Photos, a specification or a quick description of the joints is enough to start a fixed quote.

Questions we are asked in Faringdon

Will you take on work at estates like Faringdon Business Park, close to Faringdon?

Yes. Estates, retail parks and business parks around Faringdon, Faringdon Business Park among them, are all within reach. Send details of the unit and the work through our quote form for a quick quote.

Is Faringdon off your patch?

No. Small places get the same service as large ones. We cover Greater London and the counties of the South East. Send photographs and a list of what needs doing, and we will plan the job to need as few trips as possible.

What about RAMS and site documents?

Tell us what site paperwork you need (RAMS, insurance certificate, CSCS details) and we will confirm with the quote.

Can you follow the specification on our project?

Yes. We follow the specification, along with the manufacturer’s installation guidance, and we raise anything unclear before work begins.

Can you fit around our working hours?

Give us your site hours and any access windows in your enquiry, and we’ll schedule the work to suit. Our office runs Monday to Friday, 8am until 5pm.

Is it fine to apply new sealant on top of old?

No. Failed sealant is removed and the faces cleaned back to sound, dry material first, because fresh silicone will not bond with aged silicone.

Do you need to see the site first?

Photos, drawings or a schedule are often enough to quote. Where they aren’t, we arrange a site visit.

Coloured sealant in Faringdon, done properly

Window, door and shopfront frames in RAL finishes often need a sealant to suit. The frame colour is checked against the sealant’s standard range, and the nearest option is agreed with you. If the range has no close colour, a paintable sealant can sometimes be overpainted, where the specification allows. If you are dealing with old colour-matched joints lifting at the edges and stained or mouldy coloured joints in washrooms, we can help, on shop-fit joinery and counters, powder-coated and anodised frames and hotel bathrooms and public areas alike. Most enquiries from Faringdon start with one failed joint and grow into a wider look at the building: we look at the rest while we’re there and tell you what we find.

Around smaller places such as Faringdon, small firms often work from converted barns, yards and rural units. Old masonry and timber meet new glazing and partitions in these buildings, and every junction needs a sealant that suits it.

Every job we finish is backed by a 12-month workmanship guarantee, in Faringdon as everywhere else we work. If a joint we sealed fails because of how it was installed, we come back and put it right.

What we can’t put right

We seal joints; we don’t mend everything behind them. Sealant alone won’t deal with:

  • Paintable products in joints they aren’t suited to
  • A guaranteed perfect match to every finish
  • Stopping sealant from ever changing colour outdoors

If you’re not sure, just call 01277 525 020 or email a schedule or drawings and we will give you a straight answer.

Joints and surfaces we work on

  • Cladding panels
  • Shop-fit joinery and counters
  • Hotel bathrooms and public areas
  • Office fit-out finishes
  • Powder-coated and anodised frames
  • Natural stone and brick

Why act early in Faringdon

A failed joint lets in water and dirt, whatever colour it is. Water through a split seal can stain or damage the surfaces next to it, so resealing protects the finishes as well as the look. Sealant hardens, cracks and loses grip with age, UV and movement. Replacing it before it fails keeps water out.

Whether it’s a single area or a whole estate, the same things set the price: what’s in scope, how we reach it, what’s specified and when it needs doing. Call for a quote and we’ll put a fixed figure on it.

Why us?

  • Colour agreed before work starts
  • A Constructionline member, so easy to vet
  • Fully insured, including public liability cover
  • Sealing commercial buildings since 2005

How a job runs

When we get to site, we report to your site contact and complete whatever induction the building runs. Floors, finishes and fittings next to the joints are covered before any cutting starts, with the work itself normally taking about the same time as any other sealant work, plus a little longer if a sample bead is agreed first. Several jobs near Faringdon can be grouped on one trip. Tell us your site hours and we will plan around them.

  1. The sealant type is chosen for the joint first, then the colour.
  2. We compare your RAL reference or sample with the colours made for that sealant.
  3. Where colour is critical, a sample bead can be agreed in a discreet spot.
  4. We take out the existing bead, clean the joints and fit backing.
  5. We apply the agreed colour and tool it neatly, with masking where the finish needs it.

Before we start on site

  • Point out parking and an unloading spot
  • Share your working hours and any access restrictions
  • Make sure the joints can be reached

Keeping the joints sound

A few simple habits keep the new joints working:

  • Note which sealant colour was used where
  • Insist on the agreed colour for any repair
  • Approve a sample bead on high-profile areas
  • Use one colour standard across multi-site work

Give the sealant its full cure time before cleaning or handling the area. Coloured sealant marks more visibly than white while it is fresh, so keep the area clear.

Approve a sample where colour really matters. A sample in real light shows how it will look.

What Faringdon’s businesses ask us to seal

The South East is one of the drier parts of the UK. External joints still need dry faces and the right temperature, and damp or frosty mornings can hold work up. Central London is about 65 miles from Faringdon. This part of the South East is dense with business parks and out-of-town offices. If you have premises across the region, one contractor can cover them all.

In hotels such as The Crown Hotel, under half a mile north of Faringdon, refurbishments normally mean bathroom, bar and reception joints where a matched sealant colour has to sit with the finishes. Sites a few miles apart, such as Faringdon Business Park and Stanford in the Vale Business Park, can share one programme and one point of contact.

Faringdon is about 10 miles south-west of Witney, in Oxfordshire. Faringdon sits inside our coverage, and jobs here get the same fixed quote and 12-month guarantee as anywhere else. When to bring in a specialist

For a quick touch-up, site staff may be fine, but larger jobs are different: a specialist brings efficiency, a consistent finish and a 12-month guarantee.

There’s also the paperwork. Main contractors and clients often ask for CSCS cards, RAMS and insurance details, and we will confirm the paperwork you need with the quote.

What we are called out for in Faringdon

Internal joints can stain from cleaning products, spills or mould. Mould that has grown into sealant normally can’t be cleaned out, so the joint is replaced.

Common reasons buildings call us in:

  • Previous reseals that don’t match the original
  • Untidy coloured beads with ragged edges
  • Colour changes after a rebrand or refit
  • Old sealant that has yellowed, darkened or faded

Parks like Faringdon Business Park, 1.4 miles south-west of Faringdon, see tenants come and go, and every move-in brings joints to seal.

  • Can the work be phased to keep areas open?
  • Who will actually carry out the work
  • Are they CHAS accredited or on Constructionline?
