Coloured sealant for Dippenhall sites

Photos, a specification or a quick description of the joints is enough to start a fixed quote.

Coloured sealant in Dippenhall, done properly

Architects, designers and brand teams often specify the sealant colour as carefully as the finishes around it. Standard sealant ranges cover many colours, so we check what the specified product is made in. An exact bespoke match can’t always be promised, so we talk you through the nearest colours. The enquiries we see most involve fit-outs with a sealant colour in the specification and smeared sealant on stone or joinery, across cladding panels, shop-fit joinery and counters and hotel bathrooms and public areas. Searching for sealant specialists in Dippenhall? Mastic Doctor has worked for contractors, FMs and building owners since 2005.

Work in smaller places such as Dippenhall tends to come one building at a time: a pub kitchen, a hall, a small office. We plan the visit so everything on the list is done in one go, with the right products and colours on hand.

We stand behind the joints we seal: 12 months, guaranteed. It covers how we prepared and applied the sealant.

How the quote is worked out

Your fixed quote is built from the real scope. It takes account of:

  • Joint width, depth and condition
  • Any access equipment needed
  • Whether old sealant has to be cut out first
  • Site requirements such as inductions and permits

Quantities, awkward access and phased working all shape the price. So do site requirements such as inductions and permits.

What to include in your enquiry

For an accurate fixed quote, we need a clear picture of the site. Useful things to include:

  • Whether the building will be occupied during the work
  • How the joints are reached, and at what height
  • Your programme or deadline
  • The product your specification calls for

Quotes are fixed against the scope you send, so you know the figure before anyone is on site. To start the process, give us a call on 01277 525 020 or send photos by email.

What happens if it’s left?

Agreeing the colour before work starts avoids paying twice. A sample takes little time against redoing a whole elevation. Older rural buildings around Dippenhall move with the seasons, and rigid or tired sealant can’t keep up. A sealant with the right movement capability, correctly sized, lasts far better.

A quote for colour-matched joints depends on how many there are, their condition and the access. Call for a quote.

Why clients in Dippenhall choose us

  • A fixed quote before work starts
  • Coloured sealants to suit the setting, where available
  • One phone line for London, the South East and Scotland
  • Colours confirmed for the specified product

See our cost guide or how we’re accredited.

What we can’t put right

Being straight saves everyone time. Fresh joints won’t solve:

  • Restoring stained stone or masonry next to old sealant
  • Colour variation across natural stone or brick that no single shade can match
  • A colour that never alters with age

Not sure which it is? You can speak to us on 01277 525 020 or email a schedule or drawings and we’ll tell you honestly.

Surfaces we seal

  • Hotel bathrooms and public areas
  • Powder-coated and anodised frames
  • Shop-fit joinery and counters
  • Natural stone and brick
  • Cladding panels
  • Office fit-out finishes

Diagnose, treat, sign off

Our CSCS-carded applicators arrive with the sealants, primers and backing rod the job calls for. Any old material is cut back to clean, sound faces, the manufacturer’s primer is applied where it’s called for, and each bead is tooled to a neat concave finish. Jobs in and around smaller places like Dippenhall are normally planned as a single visit, so we ask for photographs and rough sizes first. That way the right products come on the day.

  1. We confirm the joint type and the product it needs.
  2. We compare the target colour with the colours available.
  3. The nearest colour is agreed, with a sample bead where needed.
  4. We cut out the existing bead, clean and set the depth.
  5. Edges are masked and the coloured sealant applied and tooled.
  6. Masking comes off and the work is checked with you.

Shops, offices and hotels in and around Dippenhall

Dippenhall has three care or nursing homes no more than 2 miles away. Care homes need tidy, cleanable joints in kitchens, corridors and communal rooms. Several hotels sit less than 2 miles from Dippenhall. Refits in hotels bring joints at vanity tops, bar counters and reception desks where the colour has to suit the scheme; work is planned so the hotel keeps trading.

Occupiers with premises at both Coxbridge Business Park and Grovebell Industrial Estate could have the sealant at each handled under one quote. In a retail centre such as Farnham Retail Park, 2.2 miles to the east of Dippenhall, new tenants mean new shop fits, and the sealant at counters, frontages and floor edges is part of the finish. If you run an office at a site such as Coxbridge Business Park, 0.8 miles to the south-east of Dippenhall, the sealant at reception desks, tea points and frames ages with each fit-out.

Common questions from Dippenhall clients

Is Dippenhall too far out for you?

Not at all. Dippenhall is within our area. Our area covers London and the South East counties. Send photos and a list of what needs doing, and we’ll plan the job to need as few trips as possible.

Must a hotel around Dippenhall close while you work?

Rarely. Rooms or floors are done in turn, so the rest of the hotel keeps trading. Housekeeping and our team agree each day’s rooms.

How do you deal with asbestos in old sealant?

Asbestos is possible in some older mastics, particularly in buildings from before 2000. We check the asbestos register before cutting out old sealant in an older building, and if asbestos is suspected, work stops until it’s tested. Removing asbestos is a job for asbestos specialists, not us.

Can you match any colour exactly?

No. An exact bespoke match isn’t something we can promise. Sealants come in a wide range of standard colours, and we will confirm the colours available for the specified product so you can choose.

Will you just go over the old sealant?

No, never. Sealing over old material is one of the classic causes of early joint failure, so everything comes out first.

Can you work to our specification?

Yes. The specification and the manufacturer’s installation guidance are what we work to, and any queries are raised before we start.

Do you take on small jobs?

Single areas, one-off repairs and whole buildings are all quoted the same way: send details, get a fixed quote, we seal, guaranteed.

After the work

Problems stay small when the joints are checked regularly. In particular:

  • Use one colour standard across multi-site work
  • Approve a sample bead on high-profile areas
  • Ask contractors to check the colour before resealing
  • Plan full-run reseals on visible elevations

Let the joints cure as the manufacturer advises before they’re cleaned. Fresh coloured beads show fingerprints and dust more easily, so keep the area clear.

Put the sealant colour into the specification or finishes schedule. Late decisions lead to substitutes and mismatches, so agree it with the designer at the start.
