Coloured sealant around Bisley: points for this area

Central London is about 26 miles from Bisley. The commuter belt holds a great many offices, retail parks and business parks. Firms with branches across the South East can use one contractor for every site. Bisley is in the South East, one of the UK’s drier regions. External joints still need dry faces and the right temperature, and damp or frosty mornings can hold work up.

Offices and shops close to stations such as Brookwood station, 1.6 miles south of Bisley, tend to be busy all day, so sealant work is planned around opening hours. Industrial estates such as Goldsworth Park Trading Estate (to the east of Bisley) have offices, trade counters and welfare areas whose sealant ages like any other building’s.

Bisley is about 3 miles west of Woking, in Surrey. We cover Bisley and the rest of Surrey, and jobs here get the same fixed quote and 12-month guarantee as anywhere else. Across Surrey, 379 places are covered, including Bisley. We also cover Reading, around 17 miles from Bisley.

We take on colour-matched joints across the GU24 postcode area. Streets here include Hawthorn Way, Germander Drive and Wilcot Close. Bisley sits on or close to the A322, which helps when planning parking and deliveries for the job. We also cover Lucas Green (1 mile north-west), West End (1 mile north), Knaphill (1 mile south-east), Sheet's Heath (1 mile south) and Penny Pot (1 mile north-east). Nearby towns on our patch include Guildford (6 miles south-east), Woking (3 miles east), Camberley (4 miles west), Farnham (11 miles south-west), Egham (8 miles north-east) and Walton-on-Thames (11 miles east).

Coloured sealant in Bisley

Matching to anodised or powder-coated frames is a common request. We compare the RAL reference with the colours made for the specified sealant. If the range has no close colour, a paintable sealant can sometimes be overpainted, where the specification allows. If you have standard-colour sealant spoiling a high-end finish and shop fits that need consistent sealant colours across sites, we can help, on natural stone and brick, office fit-out finishes and shop-fit joinery and counters alike. Looking for mastic applicators who cover Bisley? We have been sealing commercial buildings since 2005, CHAS accredited and a Constructionline member.

Places like Bisley tend to have a handful of commercial buildings: a local shop, a pub or restaurant, a surgery, a school and the odd office or workshop. Each job is modest, yet a joint in a small café needs the same cutting out, cleaning and sealing as one in a city office.

We stand behind the joints we seal with a 12-month guarantee. It covers how we prepared and applied the sealant.

After the work

Regular inspection catches problems early. Specifically:

  • Agree the sealant colour early and write it into the specification
  • Protect fresh coloured sealant from dust and handling
  • Use one colour standard across multi-site work
  • Keep harsh solvents away from visible joints

Let the joints cure as the manufacturer advises before they’re cleaned. Coloured sealant marks more visibly than white while it is fresh, so brief cleaners and other trades.

Settle the colour early in the project. Late decisions lead to substitutes and mismatches; fixing it early prevents rework.

General trades versus a specialist

Putting right a botched joint often costs more than sealing it well at the start, because the whole bead must be removed and the faces cleaned back again. For that reason, many FMs and contractors use a sealant specialist from the outset.

For most general trades, sealant is a sideline. A specialist prepares properly, controls joint depth and picks a product with the right movement class.

When it isn’t the sealant

We check first that sealant really is the fix. It isn’t the answer for:

  • Paintable products in joints they aren’t suited to
  • A colour that never alters with age
  • Repairing damaged frames or cladding

If you are not sure, just give us a call on 01277 525 020 or use the quote form and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Joints and surfaces we work on

  • Office fit-out finishes
  • Powder-coated and anodised frames
  • Cladding panels
  • Hotel bathrooms and public areas
  • Shop-fit joinery and counters
  • Natural stone and brick

Diagnose, treat, sign off

On arrival, we report to your site contact and complete whatever induction the building runs. Everything around the joints gets protected before any cutting starts, and the work usually takes a day for a modest shop fit, and longer for a full building or several floors. Work in places the size of Bisley is planned as a single visit where we can. Photos with rough sizes let us arrive with everything needed.

  1. First we agree which sealant type the joint needs.
  2. Your RAL reference, sample or photo is checked against that product’s colours.
  3. You approve the colour, on site if it’s critical.
  4. We cut out the existing bead, clean and set the depth.
  5. Edges are masked and the coloured sealant applied and tooled.
  6. Masking comes off and the work is checked with you.

Getting the site ready

  • Make sure the joints can be reached

Surface by surface

Brick and masonry

On brick, the sealant often matches the mortar rather than the brick face. We choose a suitable shade from the product’s range before work starts.

Office fit-outs

Partition frames and joinery are often in a set colour. We match from the product’s range.

Common questions from Bisley clients

Can you match sealant colours for premises in Bisley?

Yes, sealants come in a wide range of standard colours, and matching to RAL references, cladding, stone or frames is a common request. The quote lists the colours the product is made in.

Is Bisley too far out for you?

No. Places such as Bisley are covered as much as the big towns. London and every South East county are within our area. Send photos and a list of what needs doing, and we’ll plan the job to need as few trips as possible.

Do you need to see the site first?

It depends on the job. Straightforward work can often be priced from photos and measurements, and bigger or more complex jobs normally get a visit.

Can weather delay the job?

It can, when the joints are outside. Sealant won’t bond properly to a wet or frosty joint, so we watch the forecast and rearrange outside work if we have to. Internal work is far less affected.

Do you work to architects’ specifications?

Yes. Include it with the drawings when you ask for a quote, and the quote will be based on it, flagging anything that needs clarifying.

How do I request a quote?

There are four steps: send details, receive a fixed quote, we carry out the work, and it’s guaranteed. Step one needs little more than photos and a postcode.

What will the job cost?

We don’t publish prices, as every site differs. With photographs or drawings, we can give you a fixed quote.

Work for main contractors and building owners

If you look after buildings for someone else, clear figures and clear communication matter. We quote a fixed sum, confirm the scope and walk the finished work with you or your representative.

Blocks and communal areas make up much of the work for housing associations and agents. Work can be phased so residents and staff keep access throughout, with each stage agreed with your site contact.
